 Owner, John Cornett (pictured at right in the red shirt) meets daily with his Electrical Division guys before they go into the field. American Mechanical has been locally owned and operated since 1994.
John, with more than 35 years experience in the mechanical industry (formally from Rockville, MD), holds the distinction of a Master License (Class A Contractor) from the State of Virginia in Plumbing, HVAC, Gas and Electrical.
 John’s company currently employs 23 professionals in areas of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing, each under the supervision of a “Master Licensed” employee.
Chosen as the major service provider for Dominion Products and Services, the retail division for Dominion Virginia Power, American Mechanical’s service area includes Williamsburg, Franklin, the Peninsula, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach. “Basically if it needs fixing we’re there,” says Office Manager of ten year, Louise Gordon.
American Mechanical has been in the same location in Virginia Beach a few blocks from the oceanfront since 1999. They grew into the space starting with only 4 employees then, to the 23 now.
“With 18 trucks to serve the area, they are a company that can be there when you need them,” Says Louise Gordon. “We began this business doing home warranty for vendors in the area. Since that beginning, we’ve gone from six vendors to a choice two. We have concentrated our service on the homeowner. They are the ones that need the services, make the decisions and ultimately tell their friends and family about our great service.”
 Part of their business is to cater to the property management community. These include: Rose & Womble, Long & Foster, Century 21, Prudential Town Realty, All Pros, Bay Point, Remax, Realty Executives,  William E. Wood, Community Group and UPA.
