Through the combined efforts of Carrollton resident, Pam Monahan and her Lab “Ivy”, and with the compassion of the West Neck Board of Directors, we have begun a drive to raise money, food and toys for so many deserving animals at the Virginia Beach S.P.C.A.
Periodically on behalf of our dog AJ we buy additional food and toys and deliver them to the S.P.C.A. because the are in such great need.
Pam and her husband have just become volunteers for the S.P.C.A. and when she and I talked about a drive, I told her Village News is right there with anything she needs.
Recently, Pam spoke with General Manager of the Village Hall & Pool George Davis about putting a container at the Village Hall for West Neck Residents to make donations. He agreed and the next thing you know, our thoughts were put into action.
If you would like to help those wonderful animals that give you unconditional love and attention, please show your love back. Village News has run an article on page 7 in the August issue, outlining the needs and requests of “Ivy’s” friends at the shelter, but in case you don’t get by there anytime soon, see below. They have specific requests.
If you can donate money to the cause to protect these animals in their time of need, please make checks out to the Virginia Beach S.P.C.A. and drop them off to the receptionist at Village Hall. NO CASH can be accepted.
The Animals also have a wish list see below:
Kongs Toys (unstuffed) Rawhide Chews Non-clumping kitty litter Hamster/Gerbil Food Wild Bird Seed Duck Mash Cracked Corn Dog & Cat Toys (hard toys, not stuffed for sanitary reasons) Peanut Butter Towels
